How long can salmon steaks last in the refridgerator after being defrosted?

I took two frozen salmon steaks out of the freezer on Sunday Aug. 6 and immediately put them in the fridge to defrost. I’d like to cook them for dinner tonight (Thursday, Aug. 10). Is this safe, or salmonella?

It’s risky. First touch the salmon, if it is very slimy, then it’s not edible. If it has a VERY fishy odor…it’s not edible. Better safe than sorry…the old saying goes “when in doubt, throw it out”.
Good luck…it’s a shame if you have to toss them out. Salmon is my favorite!
